How to go to Tangier & Where to stay

How to go to Tangier?

By plane

The easiest way to get to Tangier is of course by plane. This is the most direct and practical way. These days, there are direct flights from the French regions, especially Nantes. Our partner, Skyscanner, can help you find the best flights at the best prices.

To reach the city, nothing is easier than a cab. Prices are affordable and cabs are installed in front of the airport gates. Beware of overnight fares, sometimes exaggerated, and be sure to check the fare charged to the driver before getting in the car. This is valid both day and night.

By car and ferry

The bravest and most patient among you can rent a car and take it to the road. From the freeway passing through Bayonne, or the one passing through Perpignan, you will cross Spain.

Then you will arrive in Gibraltar to take the ferry to the port of Tangier Med. A real journey that involves many hours of driving, depending on your city of departure. Of course, if you live in Lille, this could be a way to visit France, Spain, and then Tangier!

Where to stay in Tangier?

Lodging in Tangier is very easy. There are plenty of hotels, riads, and rooms as well as apartments available on Airbnb. The advantage of Tangier is that it is a city of human proportions. Indeed, it is quick and easy to get around.

For an authentic experience, we recommend the riad. More expensive than the usual downtown hotel, the riad offers a true experience of living the Moroccan way. They are very well maintained, well decorated, and very often in half-board. Prices range from 55 euros to over 110 euros per night.

In terms of hotels, Tangier is not to be outdone. You can find luxurious hotels right in the center, or more modest ones slightly further away. Or the opposite. There's something for everyone. Discover the different offers on a hotel comparator.

Note that if you stay there, Tangier is a city full of minarets, which the muezzins occupy at certain hours of the day, and sometimes at night, for the call to prayer. When you are not used to it, it is surprising, but it is an amazing experience.
